Amazing Things

I was curled up on my bed with a blanket and a book in my hands. Looking up from my reading and out into the gray world outside; my mind quickly changed gears. Millions of snow flakes were falling from the sky and it amazed me. It was the fact that every single flake is different in size and shape and to think of them just, just falling out of the sky from no-where! It's often such common things that all of a sudden strike me as so amazing. As I pondered the unique and intricacy of design in the snow flakes, I thought about even more amazing things.

How amazing is the design of plants to absorb water and nutrients from the ground and to transform carbon dioxide into oxygen.

Think about the human body and it's functions. The bones, the muscles, the organs, the cells etc... Just look at your hands, the skin, the finger nails, the fingers that move and think about how much weight just one small finger can hold. It's totally amazing.

The heart pumps millions of gallons of blood during a life time. A healthy heart pumps 2,000 gallons of blood through 60,000 miles of blood vessels a day.

Your eye is composed of over 2 million working parts and it can process 36,000 bits of information every hour. The eyes can be different colors, blue or green, brown or hazel and yet it doesn't affect the function! Just think about it, isn't it amazing?

The brain processes so many thoughts and commands the body, both consciously and subconsciously. Isn't it just amazing when you think of even just a fraction of what the brain does?

Oh, we are surrounded by millions of things that are so amazing, yet, the most amazing thing of all is love - God's love and Jesus love!

Yes, even in this world where sin and Satan cause so much suffering and disasters his love is still there, his grace is still there.

Yes, that is the most amazing thing of all to me - God's tender love and his grace! It thrills me through with awe and wonder.

"Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky."
