Beauty of Holiness

“Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” (1Chronicles 16:29)

I have pondered this verse off and on for a long, long time. Beauty of holiness, what is it? What does this verse mean to you? I would love to hear your thoughts and then perhaps I'll share mine. :-)

  1. Beauty of Holiness? I’ll try to make this a paragraph and not a book… :)
It means so many things to me… But I’ll just give one word: Purity.
Like with so many other things, only those who appreciate it think it’s beautiful. And yet, it is the highest goal, and the highest claim for the Christian. It is the highest gift Heaven can bestow upon a poor dirty sinner like me. The world doesn’t understand it, so it usually makes them either frightened or angry… But it’s what kept Jesus’ face beautiful even when it was swollen and bleeding. And it’s what keeps the Christians spirit beautiful in the face of sacrifice. And it’s what makes the road we travel beautiful… Even if it is narrow.
